The winners of the Intelligent Spend Management Award will be determined by a jury composed of renowned experts from the industry, academia and journalism.

The jury will base their decision on a preselection and determine the five category winners and the overall winner.

Alejandro Basterrechea is an angel investor, author, speaker and technology enthusiast. He is a customer-centric, data-driven and tech-oriented procurement leader with +15 years of procurement experience across several industries. He has a passion for building procurement organizations from the ground up. He won the 2020 Amazon Business ABX Award for driving procurement digital journey.

Global Director Procurement Excellence & Digital Transformation, Beiersdorf
Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. Christine Berg is global procurement director and responsible for all procurement excellence and digital transformation activities at Beiersdorf AG. Christine Berg looks back on more than 15 years of experience in three DAX companies, both in direct and indirect procurement. Her passion is the continuous, strategic and visionary development of the procurement function. Together with her team, she focuses primarily on innovative digital solutions.

Executive Vice President Purchasing Direct Materials, CPO Bosch Automotive
Lutz Berg has held purchasing responsibilities in a variety of business divisions and central units since joining Bosch in 2001. For example, he is responsible for direct and indirect materials purchasing and for supplier quality. As a partner in the in-house consultancy, he led various projects relating to internal restructuring.

As a leader and manager, he possesses in-depth knowledge of centralizing and leading global organizations and in implementing major change projects in the supply chain. Since July 2020, he has been the EVP mobility solutions purchasing direct materials, leading the Bosch Group’s largest purchasing division with a purchasing volume of 16 billion euros, 4,300 suppliers and 4,250 employees.

Oliver Bischof has a track record of driving procurement excellence and managing organizational and process transformation along with the matching digitalization strategy. Prior to taking on his role as CPO for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Oliver held various leadership positions in procurement, service operations and finance.

Professor of Procurement, University of Mannheim, Germany
Christoph Bode is a full professor in the University of Mannheim’s Business School, where he has held the Endowed Chair of Procurement since 2014. His teaching and research activities cover the areas of procurement, supply chain and operations management, with a special focus on risk, interfirm relationships, innovation, sustainability and performance. He serves on the editorial review boards of several leading management journals and as the spokesperson on the Academic Advisory Board of the German Association Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME).

Olaf Bollmann has been the vice president of procurement central functions, strategy, processes and original parts at Porsche AG since 2016. In this role, his responsibilities include innovation management and shaping the digitalization strategy of procurement at Porsche. He has previously held various leadership roles in procurement at Porsche and Volkswagen. Olaf Bollmann has a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Paderborn.

As part of the Schindler Group since 2003, Marco has covered different management roles, primarily in supply chains and finance at both the entity and Corporate level (Company CFO, CEO, Head EU Operations, Head Global Controlling Supply Chain). He is experienced in supply chain operations in mechanical and industrial engineering industries in complex B2B environments. In addition, he is skilled in negotiation, business planning, financial controling, operations management, lean transformation and general management.

He has been the Chief Procurement Officer at Schindler Group since June 2022.

Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Fröhlich
President, Chair of Strategic Procurement Management, CBS International Business School, Cologne, Germany
Elisabeth Fröhlich leads the Strategic Supply Management section at CBS International Business School. She originally (from 2007) exercised this responsibility as a professor and has been doing so as president since 2013. She is a member of the board of several academic organizations, such as BME e.V. Cologne Region, as well as a spokesperson for the PRME DACH Chapter, member of the PRME Board and the UN Global Compact for Business Schools, spokesperson for the Cologne Science Forum, and a business ambassador.

She works for numerous international journals as a consultant and editorial board member. Her research interests are currently focused on the fields of sustainable supply chain management and sustainable procurement, education and training in procurement, strategic supply management, procurement 4.0, and the organizational and personal challenges of “agile procurement”.

Head of Global Procurement Indirect Materials and Services, Daimler Truck AG
As the Head of Global Procurement Indirect Materials and Services, Miriam Jäger is responsible for the global indirect Procurement Organization of the Daimler Truck AG since 2021. In her current role, she designed and ramped-up the organization after the carve-out from the Daimler AG. Her major priorities include lean operations, digitalization and intensive cross-functional collaboration to maximize the procurement value add.

Before this role, she led the Global Strategy & Governance Function for Daimler Trucks’ Direct Procurement Organization and held various positions within Roland Berger, Management Engineers and Robert Bosch.

Oliver Knapp is a senior partner in Roland Berger’s Stuttgart office and co-leader of the Operations practice and the global Procurement practice. He joined the company in 2000 and works in close collaboration with his clients to develop creative solutions and deliver sustainable change.

He has advised many companies on performance improvement projects and on large transformations, particularly in the fields of procurement, product cost/value management, engineering and FRUGAL products.

Sabine Schulz-Rohde is executive editor of the specialist magazine “Beschaffung aktuell.” She studied German, history and education at Universität Gesamthochschule Essen and then earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Fachhochschule Bochum.

Since she completed her doctoral thesis on “EDI in procurement logistics in the automotive industry,” she has been interested mainly in B2B procurement. She has been a member of the editorial board of the German-language specialist magazine “Beschaffung aktuell” since 1996. Schulz-Rohde has been the title’s executive editor since 2014, and she reports for the procurement community on all topics relevant to procurement.

Dirk Senn is the senior vice president of SAP Germany’s Intelligent Spend & Business Network. He has more than 20 years of professional sales experience in the software industry. Since 2018, he has been a member of the management board of SAP Germany. He is experienced in advising and supporting customers in various industries like life science, chemicals, consumer products, utilities and service provider. He believes that putting the customer first and a high caliber of quality awareness are the keys to ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting the successful digital transformation of a business.

Since 2016, Thomas-Garry Stiller has been responsible for the Global Procurement organization of the HARTMANN GROUP, a leading provider of system solutions for the medical and care sectors.

After several digitalization projects, HARTMANN Procurement developed itself into a highly efficient digital organization with IT based end-to-end workflows and processes. They recently ensured the readiness for the European Medical Device Regulation across several hundred service providers and suppliers. Thomas-Garry Stiller previously held management positions within the Procurement departments of e.g. NOKIA and Hilti. He started his professional career as an officer in the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces).

with DMK GmbH (Deutsches Milchkontor) in Bremen for over 15 years responsible as Director Corporate Procurement for the entire procurement of direct and indirect materials incl. energy (except milk and logistics).
This qualification was preceded by another 20 years in the food industry, Kraft Foods/Mondelez and Bremer Chocolate Fabrik Hachez as well as a Master of Business Administration at Bremen University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Leeds Metropolitan
University as well as a qualification as a specialist in purchasing and materials management.

Gundula Ullah is leading the central Procurement function at FUNKE Mediengruppe, one of Germany’s largest publishing houses. Organisational transformation and digitalization represent major landmarks in her overall career with more than 20 years of experience in purchasing throughout industries such as telecommunications, aerospace and defense, retail and – most recently – media. “Digital First with optimal User Experience” is her credo when it comes to the overall future Procurement infrastructure and plays, in her view, a major role in the overall functional transformation for the years ahead.
