What do you appreciate most about the working environment at Roland Berger?

As a German consulting firm, we highly value the quality of the work we deliver, emphasizing precision, practicability, and actual impact for our client. This is what sets us apart from other consultancies. Also, at Roland Berger, you get to work with highly smart and self-driven people. Partners I’ve worked with are all exceptional in both their intelligence and their characters. They always inspire me to never give up on striving to reach new heights.

What was your best moment at Roland Berger?

The client’s appreciation of my work is undoubtedly the best moment. Plus being able to guide young, talented female consultants. My two mentees are both very capable female consultants. When they selected me as their mentor, viewing me as a role model, I felt incredibly honored. I always feel appreciated and empowered when I can help other females learn and grow.

What about your work-life balance?

Consulting life has led me to different places and allowed me to talk to people from diverse backgrounds, which adds to the width and color of my life. I think it’s the optimum state of work-life balance – maximizing the amount of life you can live while working. I also believe work-life balance may not necessarily mean spending equal amounts of time on work and life (which is difficult to achieve), but rather having the same level of happiness in both.

How do women support each other at Roland Berger?

We hold a series of Women@RolandBerger events where female executives from Roland Berger and other industries are invited to share their "moment of truth" in terms of professional development. We are also free to discuss anything that's puzzling or concerning us and can always get full support (intellectually and institutionally). Besides, female colleagues here are given the same opportunities as our male counterparts. I think this is the most fundamental support we need.

Which advice would you give to your younger self?

Be more open to all the opportunities Roland Berger have to offer. Dream big and move boldly.
