David van der Does
David van der Does is a Senior Partner at Roland Berger with over 20 years of consulting experience, specializing in strategy and supporting private equity funds, consumer goods & retail players, and professional services firms.
He advises Private Equity Funds on strategic acquisition and exit decisions, as well as maximizing value creation in portfolio companies during the holding period. Over the years, David has contributed to over 250 situations across industries. His private equity expertise includes growth strategies, performance improvement programs, business planning, and (vendor) due diligence initiatives. David leads the Investor Support practice in the Netherlands and is an integral part of Roland Berger's global Investor Support team. Additionally, he has assisted a wide range of consumer goods and retail companies—both food and non-food—with growth strategies and various performance and capability improvement initiatives.
In parallel, David frequently advises law firms and other professional service providers on strategic topics, including growth, M&A, performance improvement, and organizational change. In today’s increasingly complex business environment, he helps these organizations identify strategic growth opportunities and drive performance using a proven approach that combines robust analytics and effective change management within partnership settings.
David studied law at the University of Leiden and subsequently practiced with leading law firms in Amsterdam and London. He later completed an MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and Singapore. Since transitioning to consultancy in 2003, he has been recognized for his analytical, structured, and pragmatic approach to complex issues, as well as his ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. David also regularly teaches M&A courses at the VU University Law Academy.
