Masato Someya
Masato Someya is a Principal at Roland Berger's Tokyo office. He is a core member of the Industrials platform with a primary focus on BtoB manufacturing (such as capital goods, energy equipment and chemicals). Masato also covers a broad range of industries, such as media & entertainment, IT, general trading etc. He brings extensive expertise to deliver strategic themes such as globalization, M&A, BDD, PMI, new business development, sustainability, and organizational reforms.
He has strong functional expertise in globalization and cross-border M&A and has been leading global projects targeting various international markets, including Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
In collaboration with Roland Berger's global expert teams, he strives to give his home country a strategic impact and aims to enhance Japanese firms' competitiveness in the global market.
Before joining Roland Berger, he worked for a US consultancy. He holds a master's degree in physics from the University of Tokyo.
