Robert Baron

Robert Baron is a Principal in our Industrials & Operations platform based in Zurich.

Robert brings 10 years of experience in corporate strategy and transaction advisory, with a focus on heavy industry and the energy sector. He began his career at a global management consulting firm in 2014 before joining the Deals Strategy practice at a leading professional services firm in Zurich in 2018. After a one-year stint at an energy-focused startup, Robert joined a multinational steel manufacturer in 2021. As a Director, he contributed to the company’s strategic refocusing, the development of a new target operating model, and turnaround initiatives. He led the company’s Green Steel strategy development and decarbonization roadmap, collaborating with both the European Steel Association and the German Steel Association to define Green Steel market standards for stainless and carbon steel, respectively.

His expertise includes the design and implementation of commercial strategies, restructuring plans, commercial due diligence, and the execution of M&A asset and share deals.

Robert Baron holds an MSc in Management, Technology and Economy from ETH Zurich with an academic visit for his thesis at the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich. He has worked across multiple European countries, as well as in the Middle East and Asia. Robert is fluent in German and English.
