Wataru is a Partner of Roland Berger's Tokyo Office. He is also a certified public accountant.

His primary focus is on consumer goods and retail industries, such as food, beverage, consumer electronics, cosmetics, apparel, restaurants, hotels.

He has helped many clients solve their post-merger integration, performance improvement, business turnaround, and organizational reform problems. Now and then, he emerges from behind the scenes as an interim manager, stepping up to reconcile the interests of shareholders, employees, business partners, and more and to provide support along the way to generate concrete results.

Also, he has recently been spending more time on company-wide organizational reforms to make digital transformation work.

After working for a general trading company, he joined Roland Berger from 2004 to 2008. He later worked for a regeneration consulting firm and rejoined Roland Berger in 2021. Wataru holds a BA from the University of Tokyo.
